Easter Sunday

We had a WONDERFUL Easter Sunday.  When the girls woke up they found that the Easter Bunny had found them even though we had to reroute him to Grandma and Grandpa's house.  They also discovered that much to Grandma and Grandpa's dismay that he had left grass all over their house!! What a naughty Easter Bunny! But he was so kind to leave them some Easter baskets full of goodies :)
Then it was time for our Easter dresses and church.
We then had a delicious breakfast followed by a challenging Easter Egg Hunt.
After some naps. We took a trip to the park and enjoyed the beautiful day that was Easter!
One more picture from the day.

better late than never

I had hard boiled eggs in my fridge for a week before we found the time to color them! Finally on Friday we sat down for the Easter tradition.  Unfortunately, the egg coloring kit I bought was awful.  What's this put dye in a bag and roll the egg in it? Boring!!! And it didn't even work! So, I turned to my trusty friend google and learned the DIY vinegar, water and food coloring way of coloring eggs.  Victoria had a blast and Marlee impatiently watched from the sidelines.

Baby Nilsen

A dear friend of mind agreed to let me try a little photo project on her.  She's pregnant with her first baby and due October 25th.  We are going to take pictures every 2 weeks to document their journey to becoming parents. We started this week at 14 weeks and Nickie just glows! I can't wait to watch baby grow and capture her pregnancy milestones.
Thank you Nickie and Erik for sharing this exciting time in your lives!

Tea with the Queen

One of Victoria's favorite books is Tea for Ruby.
It's this cute little book about a little girl who is invited to have tea with the queen.
All week long she's excited about tea and tells everyone she knows.
In the end, she shows up to have tea with the queen and it's her Grandma.

When I saw that a "Garden Tea Party" that was being hosted by the Chaska Community Center
and that the only requirements were that you were a girl and that you dressed up
I immediately invited our Queen to tea.
Victoria was so excited to have "tea with the queen" all week.
And when Grandma showed up at the door all dressed up with a crown
she couldn't have been more thrilled.

The Tea Party was adorable with tasty treats, tea/lemonade, fun crafts
and adorable little girls with their mothers and grandmothers.
It couldn't have been more perfect and we couldn't have had more fun!

Project Easter!

One of the fun things about having kiddos is being able to be a little more festive around the holidays.  Last week we took some plastic eggs, added some fish line and voila Easter Tree.
I thought it turned out quite cute :)

But tell me...what's wrong with this picture?

Snow on Saturday? I'm not a fan!!!

What I am a fan of is these new window markers I got.
Very fun to add a little "festivity" to our windows :)

Family Pic Previews!!!

We got the girls pictures taken a few weeks ago to mark the milestones of Marlee turning 1 and Victoria turning 3.  Here's a picture preview...I can't wait to see the rest!!! :)

young minds

I look at it as yardwork.
Something we have to do to keep our yard looking nice.

But in the eyes of an almost 3 year old...

It's an adventure:
We are building a nest.
We are gathering eggs for our nest.

Here are Victoria's eggs in her "nest"

I just love the imagination of our little girl!

Picnic

Spring has finally sprung (well...I'm ignoring the reports of snow this weekend) and we are taking full advantage!! Tonight we had a wonderful picnic dinner outside.  There is this adorable little church in West Union and we chose that as our dining location.  They have this beautiful old cemetary next to the church and that is where we set up shop.  Morbid, maybe...but it was beautiful!!!

The girls loved this new outdoor dining experience

Marlee learned how to drink out of a juice box

Victoria twirled around like a balerina

They both enjoyed watermelon

And we were able to finally use the adorable picnic basket given and made for us for our wedding

Here are a few more pictures from our excursion...

The beautiful cemetary

A cute little tushy

And just three more...
