Dad’s 50th Birthday
n September 30th, my Dad turned 50!!! On October 2nd, my parents hosted a party at their house to celebrate the momentous occasion. They catered in food that we brought out in courses and paired with a bunch of different kinds of wines. It was a great night filled with lots of family, friends, laughter, smiles and stories. We can’t wait for the next big bash!
I wonder what makes him feel older, turning 50 or having a daughter that is going to turn 30 this year :)
PS. These pictures are taken late in the night, so excuse the exhausted faces!

4 Wonderful Years
On September 30th, Ted and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. Ok, so we actually celebrated it on the Tuesday before our anniversary, but we still celebrated :) Ted and I have always enjoyed going to the theater. In college, we both took a theater class and we would take turns attending each other’s “mandatory” plays. It was SO much fun and something that we like to do whenever possible. On our 1 year (dating) anniversary we went to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater, we thought for our 4th Wedding Anniversary it would be fun to go back. So, with Grandma and Grandpa babysitting our babies, we went into Chanhassen and enjoyed the production of “All Shook Up”. It’s about a girl that falls in love with a boy that plays a guitar. Ha! All too funny huh?
Of course we had a great time and we were ready to go back for another show. Luckily we had a BOGO offer when I bought the tickets, so we purchased tickets to see “I Do I Do” as well. So, in the beginning of October we went back to the theater and watched “I Do I Do”. It’s the longest running play at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater and is a fantastic 2 person show. You follow the lives of a couple in their 50 years of marriage.
If you’ve never had the opportunity to enjoy the Chanhassen Dinner Theater, I recommend checking it out. We love it :)

Swimming Lessons
To fight cabin fever, I checked out our local Chaska Community Activities book. I found SO many fun things for the girls to do. So, in September we started the first of our 8 sessions of swimming lessons! Marlee is first, at 5pm, and has a class with kids 6 months to 2 years. Victoria’s class starts at 5:35 and she’s in a class with kids 2 to 4 years. They are the kind of classes that the parents get in the water with the kids and the instructor teaches you how to teach their kids. I’m not expecting them to win any gold medals any time soon, but they are having a blast! Marlee just kicks and kicks her little legs and splashes with delight! Victoria’s favorite part is this big caterpillar waterslide. She usually drifts in and out of paying attention to the actual “lesson” and is anxious for the last 5 minutes of free time when she can zoom down the waterslide :)
These aren't great quality pictures, but they'll have to do. I hope to get better ones soon!!

Labor Day Weekend
Over Labor Day weekend we went up North to Ted’s Aunt Bobbie’s. We had a wonderful weekend filled with relaxing, boating, playing in the sand and more relaxing! I can’t remember the last time we were able to just sit and relax! It was OH SO WONDERFUL!!! I even got a fantastic nap with my babies. Midday nap?!?! They are the best!!! Especially for a Mommy that NEVER gets them :)
If I could move up north to a secluded house on the lake, with no work, no stresses, no responsibilities and just time to enjoy my family and the beautiful days….I would do it in a heartbeat! Anybody with me?

Family Pool Time (August 2010)
Before the end of the year, we had to get in one last trip to Uncle Nate’s pool. Both girls just LOVED splashing in the water. Victoria is lucky to have an Uncle, Grandpa and Grandma that are willing to throw her up in the air, catch her from the side and tow her around over and over and OVER again J

Touch a Truck
The City of Chaska puts on an event in August called “Touch a Truck”. They bring in different kinds of vehicles used by the city for kids to look at, climb in and explore. They also had some games, hotdogs, ice cream and the Teddy Bear Band. Victoria loved climbing around in the police car and tractor, but didn’t quite understand why she had to wait in line to do this J She also enjoyed wiggling around to the Teddy Bear Band.

Girls Weekend
In August, I think the boys were off playing in ANOTHER golf tournament, we were blessed to have a weekend for just THE GIRLS. We took a long awaited trip to the zoo on Saturday and enjoyed the beautiful flowers at the Arboretum on Sunday. Both girls just LOVE being outside and enjoyed the fresh air. Victoria is a Zoo veteran and loved seeing all of her animal friends. For Marlee, this was her first visit to the Zoo and she seemed to really enjoy it. Grandma has a membership, so we hope to make it back again soon. I am now a proud Arboretum member and thank goodness. With two little ones in tow, I think we only made it through about 1/8th of the beautiful scenery. I will be anxious to go back and check out more.
