We were invited to Marlee's preschool on Tuesday to attend their "Winter Gala and Art Expo". Each of the classrooms had art on display and then that night Marlee's class sang some songs. We were very anxious to see her "perform" as she's always performing for us at home.
However, as her class started walking in you could see the fear start to build in Marlee's eyes. I think it was the sea of parents watching and all of the unfamiliar faces. When she saw me, she stopped following the kids to the front of the gym and ran right towards me. She wanted nothing to do with going to the front. Ted coaxed her up there and stood off to the side for support.
But....Marlee just sat up their wide eyed looking terrified! Every time we would try to get her to smile she would get closer and closer to tears. She even broke some out for part of the show.
Here you might think she was "playing" along - but trust me....she wasn't!
After the show, she ran right to us! Victoria tried to cheer her up...
But only Grandma was a success - and the promise of a cookie for a smile :)
Marlee's Art
Here is a art piece from her classroom.
They are learning about space right now and I am guess that these are constellations they drew.
Apparently, hers is "Mommy" :)
