New Hat

Ted's cousin Katie has knit Victoria two hats so far. Unfortunately, the first one was too small. But this one now fits her and is just right. I think it is so cute and had to give Katie some credit :)

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and holiday season. I know we did....we finally had a Christmas that we stayed home and didn't do much running, well sort of... We have decided now that we have a little girl we need to start coming up with our own family traditions; something Victoria can remember as "what we always do at Christmas". So, this year was the start...

Christmas Eve was at our house. It was my Mom and Dad, Uncle Nate and Jennifer, Wheezer, Bobbie, Uncle Jim and our friend Nancy. It was a tight fit at our little townhouse but it was so much fun to have everyone over. The first thing we decided to do for a tradition was to let Victoria always wake up at her own house Christmas morning. So, on Christmas morning Victoria woke up to a couple of Santa presents under the tree. Of course almost everyone had to come back to see her open her first Santa Clause presents. She is surprisingly very good at opening presents...or should I say eating presents :) Everything went into her mouth!! Later on Christmas Day we went over to my parents for a delicious dinner. There it was my parents, Uncle Nate, Uncle Jim, Ted, Victoria and me. It was a lot of fun to have a relaxing Christmas.

Unfortunately, Victoria was also sick with the flu over Christmas. So, she wasn't always a happy camper...but we did still get a couple of fun pictures.... Check out more at: http://victoriawirtz.shutterfly.com/

What do Victoria and Santa have in common?

The same stockings :)

This Saturday we brought Victoria to have breakfast with Santa. She had 3 attempts to get to know Santa (he was very patient :)), but she wanted nothing to do with him. She was fine looking at him, touching him, and checking out his beard from the safety of Mom, Dad or Grandma's lap...but if he tried to hold her, forget it.

She's Starting to Talk

So, Victoria has been squeeling for awhile...

But now she is actually forming words, whether she knows it or not. Of course, it's Da, Da, Da....
Give this video 30 seconds and then she'll start talking...

This next video is what she usually does when we try to record her. She stops and stares and looks around. As soon as you quit recording she starts doing what ever activity I wanted to capture again.

Victoria is doing great - getting over her cold although she still has the cough. Her top left tooth is starting to come through. So she now has 3 teeth!!!

We are hoping to take her to see Santa this weekend. Stay tuned for pictures and hopefully video.

December Already?

We had a busy November and it flew by just as fast as all the rest...

We started out November and went to Sioux Falls, SD to visit family. While there we were able to celebrate a very early Christmas with my Mom's family. It was the first time that all of the children in that family were able to get together to celebrate Christmas in quite some time. We had a blast meeting our new cousin Drew and seeing how big the rest of the kids had gotten. They also enjoyed meeting Victoria. Davis (2), one of my cousins, was a little Daddy to Victoria; it was a adorable. He wanted to feed her, play with her, help put her down for bed...so cute.

I had to go out of town this month and leave Victoria for the 2nd time. Her Daddy does a great job of taking care of her, but I hate to be so far away. While I was gone Victoria got her first ear infection. Last week she still had an ear infection (either old or new), a bad cold and is teething again. Even with all those things making here feel miserable she is quite the trooper and still a very happy baby.

This last weekend we celebrated Thanksgiving. We went up North to Ted's Aunt Bobbie's and had fun with Aunt Bobbie, Grandpa Wheezer and Uncle Jim. Then we came home and were luckily enough to have Aunt Linda, Uncle Stan and Grandma Johnson up to visit.

This month Victoria has accomplished being able to sit up. She has been working on it for awhile but now she can really do it steadily and on her own. She loves the independence and being able to play while sitting up. Victoria loves giving hugs and kisses, pulling the cats tails, eating, standing up, her exersaucer and telling anyone who will listen all her stories. She is really developing her own personality and look and Ted and I are loving every minute of it.

Hope everyone else had a enjoyable November and we hope everyone has a wonderful December.
