A Perfect Weekend...

Looking back at our weekend, it was literally the most perfect weekend ever. Friday night, Ted and I had a 'date night'. It was our first date night, just the two of us, in way too long. The Plan: Dinner and a movie. We had a yummy dinner at Old Chicago of Pizza and a Schell's Zomerfest...I'm a cheap date :) But then we decided it was way too nice to go sit inside a movie theater. So, we went home and enjoyed conversation, the breeze of the night, eachother and wine. It was wonderful. Saturday, Ted was able to go golfing and I got some stuff done around the house. I truly do love having people over, so I spent the time preparing dinner and the house for company....Victoria helped a little too :) Then we had my family (Mom, Dad, Nate and Jennifer) over for dinner. Food was good, conversation was great and the people were even better. Sunday, we relaxed a little in the morning and the headed outside. We were able to enjoy lunch and pool time at Ted's Aunt Mary's house. It was great afternoon with excellent company. Victoria loved the pool and even dunked her head a few times. I guess swimming lessons will be next....maybe this winter :)

A Little More

Took a couple more fun videos that I thought I would share.

Victoria can now make the sound of a cow and a sheep. We didn't capture her at her best, but it's still cute. The second one you can kind of see her excitement for bath time. She loves bath time!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Ted and I are going on our first date night on Friday, the first one in a long time! Dinner and a movie....can't wait :)

Wow!

WOW! Feb 24th was my last post? I'm not even going to try and explain why I have been so bad at keeping this updated! But, WOW (again!) do I have a lot to catch up on!!!!

We've been busy (of course)....trips to the Zoo, reading books, birthday parties for friends, a trip to Washington DC and a trip to Spain for Mommy and Daddy, wagon rides, 1st Birthday Parties for Victoria, visit from Grandpa Bob and Mary, spending time with Grandma and Grandpa, wedding in Sioux Falls, hanging out with Uncle Nate, visits from more family, new pool, playing at the park, learning to walk....

Please check out our pictures from the last 4 months to see all of our activities: http://victoriawirtz.shutterfly.com/.

Victoria has been growing like a weed, of course. She is so much fun right now and still continues to amaze us everyday. She started walking this last weekend and we couldn't be happier. She's been taking steps for some time now, but she didn't quite have the confidence to go the distance. On Friday, she just went from her toy box to Uncle Nate and continued back and forth, back and forth to bring him more and more books to read.

She loves to read and we cannot make it out of her room or the living room (where her toy box is) without reading 2 or 3 books. She loves the flip flap books that she can lift and particpate in the reading.

She's been talking more and more....her most popular vocabulary: "go go go", "bye bye", "Hi", "ba ba"(bottle), "uh oh", "dada", "mama"... The best thing (and not so great thing) is that she will purposly drop something so that she can say "uh oh". We are trying to teach her that when you drop it on purpose...it's not an "uh oh" :).

Some more things that she loves to do: give high fives, open and shut the door, play in the bathroom and kitchen cupboards (tears them apart, much to my dismay :)), try to feed herself with the spoon, hugging and trying to pick up Springsteen, pretending to talk on the the phone, hugging and kissing.... So, we've taught her to give kisses and she's been doing it for quite some time. However, she's turned into the kissing bandit at daycare. She's been caught kissing with Joe Joe the 1 1/2 year old at daycare! I think it's cute, but Daddy is getting a little worried :) She also loves to dance. Any time music comes on or even when you sing, she gets a little shake going on...it's adorable :) She also loves playing with her little people and little animals. She's really gotten to know what each of them are and can grab them when you say the name of the animal and make their sound. We think she's a genius, but that's just us :)

Here's some video of her new accomplishments (note: ignore the annoying Mommy voice!):

We also had her 1 year pictures taken last weekend. We are so excited to see how they turned out and will share them ASAP.

We hope all is well with everyone else. Sorry we've been too busy to keep this updated. I'm sure everyone else is in the same boat. We hope to see you soon.

Love,

Kisses, Clapping and "So Big!", Oh MY :)

Here are some of the latest talents of our little angel. Sorry for the poor video quality, these are from our regular photo camera, I'm not sure how to upload from our video camera. Either way, Enjoy :)

This one is of Victoria clapping, she just started this on Saturday.

This one is a little of Victoria doing "So Big" and some more clapping.

This is one of Victoria playing in front of the mirrors in our dining room. It's one of her favorite places to play. She thinks that the baby in the mirror is so fun, she likes to kiss her and share her toys with her.

Last but not least, here's some fun pictures of Victoria helping her Daddy vacume.

Have a great rest of the week,

Ted, Erica and Victoria

Update - What's new to report?

I keep thinking to myself that there isn't anything new to report, but I suppose there are some things....

At the beginning of February, Ted traveled for work and left Victoria and I at home by ourselves. We had fun having girl time, but we missed Daddy. I am so thankful that we are able to do this as a team. I don't know how parents raise children on their own...it would be way to hard for me.

On February 8th, we celebrated Ted's 32nd Birthday. We went to Buffalo Lake to see Ted's Grandpa, Wheezer. He's been staying in a Nursing Home for the last couple of weeks and we are working on getting him home, but he is there for now. We then came home and had a steak dinner with my parents. Well, the boys had steak and the girls ate all the sides :)

On February 11th, Victoria had her 9 month checkup. She came in at a whopping 20 lbs 4 oz (82nd percentile) and was 29 inches long (95th percentile).

She is getting better and better at crawling. Starting to crawl more with her legs and not so much with just her arms. She can really move around quickly now, you can't take your eyes off of her for one second. She's also been trying to pull herself up on furniture and does pull herself up on us. If you would walk her around holding her hands, she would do it all day - she loves it :) She's wanting less and less baby food and would rather have more and more adult food. Her favorites are ice cream, toast, crackers and cheese. We are trying to keep her on baby food for a little bit longer, but I have a feeling it's going to be hard. Especially with her 6th tooth coming in. She started teething early and already has a mouthful :)
At the end of this month, Ted is going to see his Dad and Mary in Florida. He is very excited to get down there and play his first round of golf. We know he is going to have a blast and wish we could go with him. But it will be another girls weekend at home - we'll have fun too!!!

Hope all is well with you.

Take care,
