New and Improved

Since March we have been working on our kitchen remodel. Our house was built with handicapped accessibility and had different counter top heights and openness under the sink and stove top… It just wasn’t our cup of tea. After much anticipation it is pretty much complete!!!

What was done you ask?

Soffits were removed
A wall was removed separating the kitchen and living room
New cabinets (to the ceiling) were bought
New Counters
Added a back splash
New sink/faucet/soap dispenser
New appliances including a double over
New butcher block island
New lights above the sink

We just love it!!!!

Next up?!?!? New master bathroom and landscaping. I really wish I would have done better before and after pictures of our house. The transformation since we first moved in almost 3 years ago is amazing!!!

What we’ve done since moving in, you ask yourself again?

Redone some landscaping
Painted the garage
Painted the trim around the front
New front door
All new light fixtures throughout
All new hardwood flooring
New carpet
New bathroom vanity and faucets in girls bathroom (single to a double)
New bathroom vanity in master bathroom (single to a double)
Repaint of every room
New wood blinds throughout
New deck
Handicap ramp and door removal from master
I think that’s almost everything….and now I can add NEW KITCHEN to the list 

Oh and did I mention we’ve had flooding three times?!?!? That adds a few more things to the list!!!

She's a little stinker...

She's a little stinker and she knows how to get away with it!!!
Seriously, she knows her brown eyes and curls are my kryptonite!! They get me every time.

But her newest trick...
Whenever she does something wrong or I raise my voice to tell her not to do something...

She quickly says "Mommy, I love you"

It's in this sheepish, loving, adorable voice...
and again she gets away with it...

Oh my darling, Clementine

Marlee's new favorite song to sing is "Oh My Darling, Clementine"

It melts me...it's adorable!!!

I started calling her Clementine, her response was to call me "My Darlin"

I have to get her recorded singing the song and saying my new nickname...it's so stinkin cute!!!

Sharing a Room = Sharing a Friendship

Long ago we decided that one day our girls would share a room. Not out of necessity of space but as a necessity for growing their friendship.  Don't get me wrong, they get along great and have a blast together, it warms my heart to watch them play.  But we just wanted to enhance the friendship that will hopefully carry them through their lifetime.

We re-did Victoria's room not too long ago and when we did, we put in two single beds. The room is set up perfectly for two little girls.

Last night, Marlee spent her first night in a "big girl bed". We layed them both down, read some books and took turns tucking them in. Victoria was giddy with excitement that her little sister was going to be sleeping in her room :) We said good night and shut the door.

I kept hearing talking and giggling and it put a smile on my face - it was exactly what I was hoping for :)

Marlee did great and stayed in her new bed all night long.

Her big sister however came out 2 or 3 times with her usual excuses...

"I need to go potty"
"I need some water"
"I need some ice in my water"
"My bed sheets are messed up"
"I just want a little more cuddle time"
"I heard a bear in my room"

Seriously, this girl knows how to delay sleep better then any one!!!

We'll see how night 2 goes...
